DISCOVERY MISSION CLUBS

TEEN DISCOVERY                                        BIBLE CLUBS

World-wide Mission Work

Teen Discovery: is a youth program for teenages which provides opportunity for personal and group Bible study and encourages participation in Christian service in their local church.  The fast-pace weekly youth meetings will create a visitor-friendly atmosphere in your youth group.

LESSONS & ACTIVITIES:  As an incentive, each student has the opportunity to accumulate points for class participation, completing individual manuals, memorizing verses, taking sermon notes, bringing guests and other Christian service activities. Also, students are divided into flights or teams that they remain a part of during an entire semester. These flights compete against each other weekly during the activity session, gathering flight points. This encourages participation and team work and is an exciting part of the Discovery experience. Teen Discovery is designed to have sixteen weekly meetings during both the fall and spring semesters and scheduled to allow a break during the summer months and grants time for holidays and/or special events during the semesters. It is formatted to create an environment that will be both interesting and Bible centered.

TEEN DISCOVERY AWARDS: Not only does the local Teen Discovery Club compete with itself, the teens also compete on a National Level.  Those with enough qualifying points are honored at the National Youth Meeting and award a chance to attended a mission work somewhere in the World.  This year the Discovery Mission Tour was  in Loveland, Colorado - USA.  In the past The Discovery Mission tour has helped with mission work in, Costa Rica, Romania & many more places worldwide.

Bible Clubs:  This program is for children ages four through grade six.  There are divided into four groups according to age; Helpers, Watchmen, Warriors, & Champions.  There are three main sessions during the weekly club meetings.  During assembly time a brief devotional lesson is presented along with other group activities.  Club time is when the club members work in their individual club manuals.  During game time, refreshments are served and children engage in activities that support the lesson aim.
LESSONS & ACTIVITIES: The Bible Discovery Clubs schedule several Community Service and  Mission Activities during each year.  In Fall of 2006, the Bible Discovery Clubs participated in the Clarksville, TN 'Rivers and Spires' parade, winning the 'Best Theme' ribbon with their 'Dive into Discovery' parade float.  Along with the ribbon the Bible Club won a $100.00 prize, which they promptly presented to a member of the Teen Discovery to help pay for a mission trip to Costa Rica.
