F.U.E.L.

Full of Emmaus Love: Luke 24:13-35

Hundreds of Montgomery County School children have little or no food to eat in the 67 hours between Friday lunch at school and Monday breakfast at school.

F.U.E.L. is a program to provide food for these "at risk" children.  The Founder, Denise Skidmore, came to our Senior Citizens luncheon on October 19 to explain the program.  It targets children who currently receive free or reduced price breakfast and lunch at school.

Several area churches prepare bags of food weekly and drop them off at school on Thursday so the children can take them home Friday.  This assures they have some nourishment over the weekend.

Why the Need?

1. Some parents have drug or alcohol issues and do not provide nourishing food for their children

2. Some parents lack good parenting skills and are poor money managers.

3. Some parents are doing the best they can but fall short of money needed to buy and prepare nourishing meals.

What is the Cost?

Each bag is estimated to cost $4.50

How can we Help?
